中華会館

函館市観光標識

中華会館は純中国様式の建築として日本に現存する唯一の貴重な建物である。　函館から中国への海産物質易の盛んな頃に在函華商が信仰する三国時代（魏・呉・蜀）の蜀の武将として活躍した関羽＝関帝を奉祀する聖所として中国から大工・彫刻師・漆工らを招き、煉瓦・祭壇・什器等資材も中国から取り寄せ、約３年の工期と巨費を投じて明治４３年（１９１０年）１２月に竣工した。　内部は金色燦然たる関帝壇を中心として周囲に小部屋を配し、装飾、調度品は壮麗を極めている。　建物は社団法人函館中華合館の所有である。　　函館市

Chinese Memorial Hall This is a valuable existing example of a pure Chinese style building. When trade of marine products between Hakodate and China was active、 Chinese merchants in Hakodate constructed the hall as a sanctuary to enshrine Guan Yu (Lord Guan)、 who was a military officer in the kingdom of Shin Han - one of the three kingdoms in China along with Wei and Wu. Construction took about 3 years and was completed in December 1910. Carpenters、 sculptors、 and lacquer craftsmen from China were invited to work on the building. Bricks、 altars and utensils were brought directly from China、 and an enormous amount of money was expended. The altar of Guan Yu (Lord Guan) is brilliant with golden colors and is surrounded by many small rooms. The decoration and furniture inside the hall are grand and magnificent. The hall is owned by the Hakodate Chinese Memorial Hall Aggregate Corporation.

中華会館是純中国様式的建築、為日本現存唯一的貴重建築物。由函館向中国進行海産物貿易的最盛時期、在函華商由於信仰三国時代（魏・呉・蜀）蜀的武将関羽而修建祭祀関帝的聖地、由中国招聘木匠・彫刻師・漆工等専家、並由中国採購磚瓦・祭壇・什器等資材・約費三年的工期、投以巨款、於明治４３（１９１０）年１２月竣工。内部以金碧輝煌的関帝壇為中心、周囲配有小房間、装飾・家具都極為壮麗。建築物為社団法人函館中華会館所有。
